2021-2022 WOMEN'S HALL OF THE YEAR!!!
Mission Statement:
"Cavanaugh Hall is dedicated to being a community of chaotic love -- where everyone is seen, known, and cherished for exactly who they are and the myriad gifts and perspectives they bring to our home."
History:
Cavanaugh Hall is named after Rev. Fr. John W. Cavanaugh, C.S.C., the University's president from 1905-1919. It was built in 1936 as a men's hall, and Notre Dame originally intended it to mark the edge of campus. However, this soon changed as the University has opened its doors to a growing number of undergraduate students, and campus has needed to expand as a result. In 1994, Cavanaugh was converted to a women's hall and has served as a home to hundreds of women since. We enjoy a prime location in the center of campus with easy access to North Dining Hall, LaFortune Student Center, Hesburgh Library, and all academic buildings. The women who reside in Cavanaugh bring their chaotic love and spirit to everything they do on campus and cultivate a supportive community within the dorm that makes it feel like a home away from home :)
