Meet Sarah!
My name is Sarah Petersen, and I can't wait to serve the Cavanaugh Hall community as an RA this coming year!
I am a Hoosier, born and raised in Zionsville, IN, a suburb of Indianapolis. Here at Notre Dame, I have been lucky enough to have lived in the best dorm on campus (Cav ofc :) for the last three years. I am majoring in Biochemistry with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in Compassionate Care in Medicine. I am also on the premed track, so please come to me with any premed questions you might have! (Like advice on how to get involved in research, clinical service in south bend, orgo study tips, study abroad, etc!) Some fun facts about me—I am a triplet (with two brothers), my go-to Starbucks order is an iced chai, I work at a pie shop when I am home on break, and I have tried every Ben & Jerry’s flavor offered at the huddle (yes, even pistachio). When I’m not in class, you can find me out on a run, on the 10th floor of Hesburgh library, or watching The Office, Survivor, or The Great British Baking Show. After a restricted first year due to COVID, I’ve learned that getting involved on Notre Dame’s campus is such a privilege and I would highly recommend doing so! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy serving mass at the basilica, volunteering at Memorial Hospital, and assisting Cav’s Hall Council as a Co-Commissioner of Internal Communications and Co-Commissioner of Baking, among other activities. Additionally, I spent a summer completing an SSLP through the Center for Social Concerns and I studied abroad in London for a semester. There are so many unique activities at Notre Dame and there is something here for everyone. If you have questions about how to get involved, don’t hesitate to reach out—I would love to help you find your niche! Notre Dame is truly a special place to be, and my experience here has been made even brighter by the wonderful women of Cavanaugh Hall. This dorm is so full of life (and chaos :) and it is one of the most welcoming, enthusiastic, and kind-hearted communities I have ever experienced. Your four years at Notre Dame will be an incredible experience, and I am here to help you in any way I can along the way! Please do not hesitate to stop by my room or you can always email me at [email protected]! I can’t wait to welcome you into your new home under the dome—Go Chaos! |
